BAKUCHI (Psoralea corylifolia) is an excellent tonic and rejuvenative for the skin. It improves the complexion, restoring the luster to the skin and improving growth of nails and hair. It is good for rough, cracked, scaly skin and broken or brittle nails, such as are common in Vata constitutions and in the elderly. It helps eliminate discoloration of the skin, whether light or dark in color, and reestablishes normal skin tone. Bakuchi is considered to be the best herb for leucoderma and similar skin discolorations
Bakuchi oil applied topically for leucoderma helps stop the spread of discoloration and restores normal skin color. The oil is also good for folliculitus. Psoralea is also used for similar purposes in Chinese medicine where it is classified as a yang tonic or herb to improve primary vitality.
